Hotel Maxim - Bologna

The bus stop was right outside which made it convenient to get into the city. Close proximity to the airport. Front desk worker helped print our boarding passes although he forgot a wake-up call which is a major negative and could not do anything about the broken air-conditioning.

Website described rooms with air-conditioning and it had been broken but they said it was fixed which it was not. It was extremely hot in the 2nd floor rooms which made it difficult to sleep. Property of this hotel is extremely run-down. Plants and grass were dead -- it looked like an abandoned building. We almost just drove away after seeing what it actually looked like. Website photos were very misleading. Area seemed dangerous. We only stayed because we needed somewhere close to the airport since we had an early flight. Towels in bathrooms were like dishtowel material--very flat and thin. Had to pay for wi-fi which is not appealing for hotel patrons. Not a pleasant stay.

Fully average. Except the Philippines receptionist, who was very friendly and helpful.

The family rooms leaves something to be desired: there are one or three beds on the gallery, which is a family of two children is not necessarily an ideal. Running for breakfast, because the ham and the bread runs out quickly, and the waiter just smiles, but not to take more. :(

Noise from the restaurant on ground floor was coming through floor and it was so annoying.

This hotel is located very close to the Bologna Fair grounds. The hotel offer a free mini van service to and from the fair grounds.

For the fee that we have paid for our stay, I pretended a better breakfast. The hotel does not have a restaurant reserved for the guests. This hotel has a restaurant, which I beleive is leased to third parties. It is always full up. I only managed to eat at the restaurant only once (because there was a cancellation) the rest of the days I ended eating pizza from a near by take away. In the vicinty there are no restaurants where you can go. I will go again only because of its location.

The room has a loft and my kids love it. Clean and spacious. Free parking.

But it is far from the city center. The restaurant was closed and had to drive to eat dinner.

The staff was friendly. My double room was spacious.

The breakfast was not so good in terms of variety.

The staff was very polite and professional. They took the time to make sure our family had everything we needed. We stayed in a two bedroom room and it was very spacious for the four of us. The continental breakfast consisted of the normal rolls, cheese and meat but it got us started for the day. Overall, a nice and clean place to stay.

* We were all extremely pleased to have chosen hotel Maxim, and that they could accommodate us for an additional night's stay; especially when we saw the room and were aware of it's excellent location to the centre of Bologna and the airport (originally our main reason for the stay). * The room, with an 'upstairs' design, facilitated both the adults and children had privacy. * There were 2 TVs. * There was sufficient space. * The shower was good. * Everything was in good working order. * Excellent advice given regarding travelling to the centre + airport, and recommending a restaurant 'Ro Coco' which we all found to be one of the hi-lights of our holiday, as not only was the food very good, but the waiter performed special magical feats for us. * We all agreed we would stay there again, and would recommend it to our friends who regularly visit Italy and use the fly-drive. We were at the airport in 10 minutes.

More hangers please. Spare pillows. There didn't seem to be an available powerpoint for the table lamp next to the tv downstairs; to have used it would have meant no tv.

Room is spacious, clean & comfortable. There is enough space to park your car & is free of charge. The staffs are very attentive whenever you need something from the front office reception up to the dining area. Excellent! It's a family friendly hotel & they do know what the hospitality industry really means. I do recommend this hotel.

very loud traffic at both sides of the hotel but windows close well and you have heating and aircon.

The restaurant next door to the hotel was excellent. The bed was wide and very comfortable.

There were no satellite TV channels. The soundproofing wasn't great; we could hear the man next door coughing, blowing his nose and having a shower.
